Best movies of 2009 1. moon I first saw the trailer for this movie on ONTD. I thought it looked really good and Erika is a huge Sam Rockwell fan, so we went and saw it. We were the only ones in the theater and I fell in love with the movie. It was great and time flew by as I watched. 2. inglourius basterds This movie was amazing. We were meant to see it in theaters, but never got around to it. I wish we did. I didn't expect it to be mostly in French and German, but it was a pleasant surprise (I love subtitles)! I also discovered a love for Melanie Laurent, who is dating Damien Rice (gasp). 3. (500) Days of Summer I wanted to see this forever because I LOVE Zooey Deschannel. Just got around to it, and I loved it. Joesph Gordon-Levitt was amazing, and he's not looking bad these days. 4. funny people For some reason I didn't expect to like this, but I did. I love Adam Sandler as a serious actor, as aforementioned. 5. brothers bloom Really good movie, a little off with the casting- but that's my only complaint. 6. State of Play I didn't even want to see this, but it sucked me in. 7. Notorious Snuck into this to blow time. I really liked it. It was a well done film. 8. The Uninvited So shocked that I loved this because I hate Elizabeth Banks! But it was a good movie, that scared me and had one hell of a twist ending. 9. obsessed While not thought provoking, a good mind-numbing action movie. 10. orphan Not scary, but very entertaining!
Worst of 2009 1. the hangover not funny. 2. coraline Dead babies. 3. watchmen Unlikable characters. 4. the last house on the left That rape scene. 5. i love you, man Gross.

One of my favorite scenes is from "Wicker Park". Through out the whole movie Matthew is searching for Lisa and in the end he finds her and reaches for her and then their eyes meet and you know instantly that they're going to spend the rest of their lives together.

When a friend or relative makes a racist or homophobic remark (and they have been made) I get extremely upset. I used to sit back and think 'that's terrible and ignorant' and that would be it. After high school I learned to speak up for those who weren't around when the comments were made. Sometimes when I say something to the commentator I'm criticized, but that's okay because at least I'm doing what I know is right. It disturbs me when people can let others say whatever they please.

Size Too Small- Sufjan Stevens |

Damien Rice, for sure. Glen Hansard. Feist. Sufjan Stevens.
But it all depends on the person's personality. I'm not going to recommend something I don't think they'll like; these are just my personal favorites.

Today I saw "Public Enemies." I really did not like it at all. I really wanted to see it because I love Christian Bale; he is just such a badass in life. When we got to the movies I was excited to see it, but when we sat down things just went downhill. The beginning of the movie was boring to me. It opens up pretty action-packed, but it just didn't hold my attention. Johnny Depp did look fly though. The cast was good, like I said I love Christian Bale, I think Johnny Depp is a good actor and I think that Marion Cotillard is so underrated. To be honest though, their characters were the only I could keep track of. Everyone else was either not shown enough for me to get a lock on their face or they didn't look distinctive enough to remember. I felt that the movie was way too long. I know that two hours has become the standard, replacing the old one and a half, but I just felt with this particular movie it was too much. I can tell the story of John Dillinger in five seconds, so I feel the movie should have been a little less drawn out.
A while ago we saw "The Hangover," and unlike the rest of the world- I didn't like it. I just didn't find it very funny (although it was funny @ parts) and didn't find the acting good or the cast to be very attractive. I really just wanted to see it for Andy Bernard.
The next movie I want to see is "Away We Go," with John Krasinski. He looks fantastic in the previews. I wanted to se it when it first came out, but it wasn't playing anywhere in central Florida. Now it is, in Orlando- so I think we may be taking a mini road trip one day soon.

Tomorrow E and I are supposed to go see "Obsessed" @ the dollar movies. It looks crazy, E says like "The Temp," but hopefully it will be a good time.
Overall, lately I haven't been big into movies. I used to love going to the theater, but now it seems like to much of a hassle for such little payoff. I think for a while it's going to be Redbox, Netflix, and the dollar movies for me.
